Junior School

你 好 (ni hao) Foundation, Year 1 and Year 2 families,
Our Year 1 students had a wonderful day exploring the beautiful Ripponlea Estate as part of our Guided Inquiry unit. The excursion provided an exciting opportunity for students to step back in time and discover what life was like before the technology and entertainment we have today.
During our tour of the mansion, students explored the different rooms and learned about their purposes and the features that made each room special. They were fascinated by the grand furnishings, beautiful decorations and the way people lived in the past. Students enjoyed comparing the rooms and features of the mansion with homes and classrooms today.
A particular focus of our visit was exploring how people entertained themselves before televisions, computers, tablets and other forms of modern technology. Students discovered the many ways children and families spent their time, including playing games, reading, creating and socialising with others.
The excursion provided many opportunities for students to ask questions, make observations and make connections with our Guided Inquiry learning. It was wonderful to see their curiosity and enthusiasm as they explored Ripponlea and developed a deeper understanding of how life has changed over time.
A big thank you to our parent helpers and the Ripponlea team for helping make the day such a memorable learning experience for our Year 1 students!
