It has been another busy and exciting week of learning and activities at Mount Pleasant Road Primary School!
Senior Athletics Carnival
Despite the wet and windy conditions, our students showed fantastic resilience and determination at the Senior Athletics Carnival. Students gave their best effort across a range of track and field events, including long jump, triple jump, high jump, discus, shot put, as well as the 200m and 400m races. Well done to all students for demonstrating our Mount Pleasant Road Primary School values and giving everything a go!
Mathematics – Dream Holiday Investigation
In Mathematics, students have been planning their very own ‘Dream Holiday’ as part of an investigation into Financial Mathematics. Students have been choosing destinations, planning their travel and calculating the costs of different expenses. It has been wonderful to see students so engaged in the investigation and applying their mathematical skills to a real-world context. They are doing an amazing job!
English
In English, students have been reading passages from Always Was, Always Will Be by Aunty May Fuir and Sue Lawson. We have been using information from the text to practise writing detailed responses, with a focus on using a range of compound and complex sentences. Students are then using these sentences to construct well-developed paragraphs. It has been fantastic to see students building their confidence and developing their writing skills.
Brainstorm Productions
Students also enjoyed the Brainstorm Productions incursion on Thursday. Through an entertaining and engaging play, students explored important social skills and had the opportunity to think about how they interact and communicate with others.
It has certainly been a busy week filled with challenges and plenty of fun! We are looking forward to another great week of learning next week.

Attention Year 6 Families - Baby Photos for Graduation
We are looking forward to celebrating Year 6 graduation at the end of the year, with preparations already underway!
One of our beloved traditions is sharing three baby photos from between the ages of 0-5 as part of the presentation. We are asking if you could please email gradesixgraduation@gmail.com with these three photos by November 30th. We usually recommend one baby photo, one toddler and one around kinder age, but any family favourites will be great!
Also, if your child attended another school prior to MPRPS and you have their school photos, it would also be much appreciated if you could send those through.
We will send reminder messages over the coming weeks, but we like to get an early start as it takes a while to collate everything! Thank you so much for your support!
