Singing Group Visit to Weary Dunlop Retirement Village

Sixteen students from Years1- 6 visited the residents and entertained them with 3 songs on Wednesday afternoon. Shael also played two musical pieces on the grand piano (much to his delight!) The children then had some conversation starters to help break the ice whilst chatting to them afterwards, they found out so many interesting things about the residents there. One lady didn't have anything on her bucket list as she was 102! Another had photos to share with us from 1990 when she was a staff member at WMPS! It was so lovely to see so many smiling faces as age barriers were broken down. We were then invited to sing Advance Australia Fair with the next musician there to entertain. Such a fun afternoon!

We look forward to making this a regular event throughout the year and to build relationships with the aged in our neighbourhood.
