Classroom Mastery Update

 3, 2, 1… Ready!

Our new Cue to Start routine is well and truly embedded across the school. “3, 2, 1… ready!” has quickly become a familiar signal that you’ll now hear in classrooms, the gym, at assembly—and we’re told even in some homes!

A consistent cue to start helps students recognise when it’s time to refocus. By using the same signal across learning environments, we reduce students’ cognitive load and maximise learning time, as less time is spent trying to gain attention and more time is dedicated to teaching and learning.

Next Wednesday, our Classroom Mastery Coaching Team will return to review the implementation of our Classroom Mastery routines, including entry, exit and call to attention practices. During their visit, the team will provide feedback on how consistently our routines are being implemented, including fidelity to our school-based scripts and the effective use of teacher instructional skills.

The Classroom Mastery Coaching Team’s visit will be a positive opportunity to celebrate and share examples of effective practice across classrooms and schools. We look forward to working with the team next Wednesday and gaining further insight into how we are progressing on our journey toward consistency and best practice.
