Extraordinary Ministers of Communion Training
Last Friday Fr David trained 16 Year 11 students to be Extraordinary Ministers of Communion. This is an important ministry within the Church to ensure that all members of our community are able to share Liturgical experiences.
Fr David explained the importance of the Eucharist by affirming that when we receive the body of Christ, we are doing this in communion with other people because the very idea of the resurrection of Christ is a bursting forth, and Jesus’ body becomes our body. We become the body of Christ.
One body and one community. For all and with all.
Youth Mass
Join us at Our Lady of Dolours this Sunday evening for our second Youth Mass of the year. A wonderful opportunity to share Eucharist together. Mass starts at 5:30 pm, please arrive at 5:00 pm so we can be seated and assign roles in time.
Year 11 Formation Day
Year 11 students will participate in their Formation Fay at Oxford Falls on Friday 27 March. These days provide a wonderful opportunity for our students to take time away from school in prayer, reflection and contemplation.
Buses will depart at 9:00 am and return by 3:05 pm. We are fortunate to have Tony Hoang as our keynote speaker who will set the scene for the day and introduce our theme 'The masks we wear.'
Lenten Appeal
We enter into the final weeks of Lent and encourage all families to consider making a donation to our Lenten Appeal. Being able to place yourself into another person’s shoes can be humbling and allows us to be grateful for what we have.
Our College Lenten Appeal supports Mannya Parish, Uganda, a partner community deeply connected to the Edmund Rice tradition. You can learn more at the Ungana Kuwasha Appeal by visiting our website: https://www.spxedmundriceappeal.com.au/ where you see that $5,000 will be able to support access to clean drinking water.
Direct donations can be made via the TryBooking link:
