Principal's Report

Dear Parents, Guardians, and friends of Nazareth
Welcome back to the beginning of Term 4. It has been wonderful to commence the term in our new Marian Centre, with both staff and students embracing the opportunities and facilities that this impressive new space provides.
From opening, the building was buzzing with activity. Our new Health Centre was immediately utilised by students and has proven to be a valuable addition to the College. Should parents/guardians need to collect an unwell student during the school day, please enter via the Shelton Crescent gate (back gate), use the intercom for access, and follow the blue footprints to the Health Centre.
Adjacent to the Health Centre is our Student Services area. Students seeking assistance, arriving late, or requiring an early departure from school will need to report to this location.
The new canteen precinct has also been extremely popular, with large numbers of students enjoying the space. Our students have particularly appreciated the opportunity to sit and enjoy their meals in the welcoming surroundings of Café Naz.
Located on the second floor are our Careers Office and Wellbeing Centre. Both areas have been exceptionally busy as students explore future pathways and access the new wellbeing facilities. Our school counsellors, situated adjacent to the stairwell, have created a calm, inviting environment where students can seek support, advice, and strategies to assist with their wellbeing.
Also on this level is our new Study Centre, which accommodates up to 80 students during their study periods. The space is supervised and has already become a much valued resource, particularly for our Year 12 students.
We are hopeful that the new gymnasium will be available for student use in the coming weeks, marking another exciting milestone in the completion of these outstanding facilities.
As we approach the final full week of formal classes for our Year 12 students, I would like to take this opportunity to wish each and every one of them every success in their upcoming examinations and future pathways, whether that be further study, apprenticeships, or employment. They have been a responsible, respectful, and enjoyable cohort to work alongside, and we are proud of all they have achieved during their time at Nazareth College. We wish them every success for the future.
Congratulations to our school representatives who achieved first place in the SIS Book in a Day Championships. This is a wonderful achievement and a testament to their creativity, teamwork and dedication. I thank Mark O’Sullivan, Nicola Bailey, Janine Stockdale and Olivia Giblin for their support and assistance in preparing and guiding our students throughout the competition. The following students were members of the SIS Book in a Day Team:
✦︎Authors - Alyna Joseph, Audrey Langley, Sophia Lim,
Chloe Manuel-Quelino and Zahra Misso
✦︎Illustrators - Zoe Casequin and Elcie McAleer
I congratulate our staff and the Instructional Leaders of Performing Arts, Visual Arts, and Technology for delivering another outstanding Annual Showcase Exhibition. The exhibition highlighted the exceptional creativity, talent, and hard work of our students, and provided a wonderful celebration of the high quality work completed throughout the year.

I would also like to sincerely thank our 2026 College Captains, Vishwanathan Sreekanth, Daniel Farr, Alicia Rasool and Ananya Ghose, for their outstanding leadership throughout the year.
