Student Wellbeing

Term 3 is well underway!
As we approach the end of Week 4, it has been wonderful to reflect on the many opportunities our students have embraced throughout the term. From learning experiences beyond the classroom to leadership opportunities and wellbeing initiatives, there has already been so much to celebrate.
Our Year 10 students recently attended the Careers Camp in Melbourne and Bendigo, where they approached every activity with enthusiasm, maturity and pride. It was a busy and rewarding two days, providing valuable insights into future pathways while showcasing the outstanding way our students represent the College. We thank both our students and staff for making the experience such a success.
Our Year 12 students have now entered their final full term of secondary school. This is an exciting and important time as they prepare for the months ahead. We are incredibly proud of their commitment to their studies, the leadership they demonstrate within our community, and the positive example they continue to set for younger students. We look forward to supporting them every step of the way.
Attendance Matters
Regular school attendance plays a vital role in a student's academic achievement, wellbeing and sense of belonging. Consistent attendance helps establish positive routines, builds resilience and develops habits that will support students well beyond their school years.
We also encourage students to attend all College events, including sporting carnivals, House Masses and liturgies, as these experiences are an important part of building community and strengthening connections.
If challenges arise that impact attendance, we encourage families to contact the College. Working together allows us to provide the support students need to thrive both academically and personally.
Student Leadership 2027
This week we officially launched the 2027 Student Leadership process with our Year 10 and Year 11 students. During a dedicated assembly, students learned about the range of leadership opportunities available, the responsibilities of each role and the application timeline.
We encourage students to embrace this opportunity, challenge themselves and show the courage to put themselves forward for leadership. Applications open on Friday 7 August, with further information available via Compass.
Year 10 Wellbeing Day
All Year 10 students will participate in their second personal development day for the year, focusing on building positive relationships and supporting wellbeing across all dimensions of health.
Students will take part in two evidence-based programs designed to encourage self-awareness, resilience and healthy decision-making.
REACH Foundation – Locker Room and Mirror
These interactive workshops encourage students to explore the expectations and stereotypes often placed on young people, while creating opportunities for honest conversations about identity, vulnerability and authentic self-expression.
- Locker Room challenges traditional views of masculinity and explores the importance of open, supportive conversations among young men.
Mirror encourages students to examine gender expectations, build confidence in their authentic selves and develop the courage to be true to who they are.
CTRL Your Scroll
Students will also participate in CTRL Your Scroll, an evidence-based program that promotes healthier digital habits. The workshop encourages students to better understand their relationship with technology, reduce unnecessary screen time and develop practical strategies to support their overall wellbeing.
