Principal's Report

Strong communities are built on connection, shared purpose and celebrating one another's successes. They foster excellence by recognising achievement wherever it occurs – in the classroom, on the stage, on the sporting field or in the everyday moments that shape who our young people become. For 140 years, St Joseph's College has been committed to providing quality Catholic education grounded in these values, and over the past fortnight we have seen them come to life once again.

From our Academic Awards Assembly and Whole School Athletics Carnival to the excitement building around our upcoming College production, our students continue to demonstrate their talents, determination and willingness to embrace every opportunity. These achievements are only possible because of the collective support of our staff, families and wider College community, and for that we are incredibly grateful.

Like all of us, our young people are still learning and growing. They will make mistakes along the way, just as adults do. What matters most is how we respond. Every challenge presents an opportunity to learn, develop resilience and grow in character. Our role is to walk alongside our students, to know them, support them and encourage them to become the very best version of themselves. Thank you to our students, families and staff for the partnership we share in nurturing each young person.

That commitment to continuous improvement also extends to the way we support student wellbeing. Over recent weeks we have been reviewing our Learning Mentor Program, with College Leader – Student Wellbeing, Shari Gotch, leading consultation with students, staff and families. Their valuable feedback is helping us explore how the program can best meet the needs of our students now and into the future. We look forward to sharing more later this year, knowing that listening to our community is an important part of ensuring every student feels known, supported and connected.

There is also plenty of excitement on our Kildare Campus as Stage 3 of the building project continues to progress on schedule. Alongside this significant development, additional beautification works will commence in the coming weeks, including refreshed garden spaces, new seating, shade areas and pathways. These improvements will further enhance the campus environment, creating welcoming spaces where students can learn, connect and enjoy their time together.

Thank you for the many ways you continue to contribute to the vibrant community that is St Joseph's College. It is through working together, celebrating one another and supporting our young people that we continue to build a College where every student has the opportunity to flourish.
