Williamstown Campus  News

Dear Families,

Last week marked the halfway point of the term, and I continue to be impressed with the positive atmosphere across the Campus. There remains a strong focus on teaching and learning, with students demonstrating ambition and a genuine desire to achieve and continue improving.

Upcoming Events

  • King’s Birthday Public Holiday – Monday 8th June
  • Year 7–9 Exams – Tuesday 9th June to Thursday 11th June
  • Exam schedules are available on Compass. Families are encouraged to support students by providing time and space for revision. Exams are not only about achievement, but also about establishing strong study habits and routines as students move toward the senior years. Year 7 and 8 exams will take place in classrooms, while Year 9 students will complete exams collectively in the STEM Centre. Results will be included in end-of-semester reports.
  • Report Writing Student-Free Day – Friday 12th June
  • Year 9 into 10 Information Evening – Monday 15th June
  • Year 7 Camp Kangaroobie – Tuesday 16th to Friday 19th June
  • This will be a fantastic mid-year experience for our Year 7 students. Please ensure all medical and dietary information has been communicated to Ms North. With colder weather expected, appropriate clothing and warm attire will be important.
  • Final Day of Term 2 – Friday 26th June

Celebrations

Tennis Success

Our tennis program continues to achieve outstanding results, with both the Intermediate Boys and Girls teams reaching the State Championships. Congratulations to our Girls team, who won the state title. We would also like to acknowledge individual student success, with Lemuel (Year 9) currently ranked number 1 in Victoria on points for his age group, and Thea (Year 7) ranked 3rd in her age group. We congratulate them on their achievements.

NAPLAN

The College has received preliminary NAPLAN results, and at this stage student growth data is positive. A more detailed breakdown of results will be available next term, at the same time families receive individual reports.

Reminders

Attitudes to School Survey

Students have completed the Attitudes to School Survey over the past few weeks, with over 90% participation. The Parent Survey will be distributed shortly, and we strongly encourage families to participate. We value both student and parent feedback as it helps shape future improvements.

Uniform

Please support the College by ensuring students attend school in the correct uniform. Positive relationships and consistent expectations help create a welcoming environment for both students and staff. When uniform becomes a repeated focus, it can detract from time spent supporting learning and wellbeing. If you require assistance, please contact your child’s Year Level Coordinator.

Ready to Learn

Students are generally well prepared for learning. The biggest feedback from teachers continues to be laptops arriving uncharged. Please support your child by ensuring devices are charged overnight and ready for learning each day.Thank you for your continued support.
