Paisley Campus News

Dear Families,

We are now over halfway through Term 2, and I have been extremely impressed by our students’ work ethic, positive attitude, and engagement in the many opportunities available to them. It has been wonderful to see students actively involved in initiatives such as SRC, lunchtime clubs, excursions and incursions, sport, and the performing arts.

This week, students will begin finalising their Semester 1 learning programs and preparing for upcoming exams. We encourage all students to continue applying themselves to their studies and making the most of the support available to them during this busy period.

Thank you for your ongoing support throughout the term.

Victorian Careers Show Excursion

Our Year 10, 11 and 12 students had a wonderful experience at the Victorian Careers Show at the Showgrounds two weeks ago. Students made the most of the opportunity, engaging enthusiastically with a wide range of universities, training providers and industry representatives.

Throughout the visit, many students sought out institutions that align with their future career goals. Conversations with students showed just how valuable the session was — they asked thoughtful questions, explored new possibilities, and demonstrated genuine interest in planning their pathways beyond school.

It was a focused and rewarding visit that left students feeling informed, motivated, and excited about their next steps.

Yakult Factory Excursion

Year 12 Business Management students recently visited the Yakult factory in Melbourne as a part of their study of Operations Management. Students observed how Yakult manages its production processes and were able to apply concepts learned in the classroom to a real-world setting. The excursion concluded with lunch at Chadstone Shopping Centre.

Reconciliation Week

National Reconciliation Week runs annually from 27 May to 3 June. It is:

  • A time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to recommit to reconciliation and the fight for First Nations justice.
  • Bookended by two major milestones:
    • 27 May 1967: the successful referendum that allowed the Commonwealth to make laws for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and included them in the Census.
    • 3 June 1992: the High Court Mabo decision, which recognised Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as Traditional Owners and led to Native Title.
