Boarding Reflections

Each year I ask the Year Twelve students to provide me with a reflection of their time in boarding.  Please find these included on the Boarding Captains page here.

Gratitude

I was very surprised and thankful for a surprise I received this week when I arrived at work.  A thank you card from the Endeavour House students.  It was a lovely gesture and very much appreciated, thank you girls!

Pink & Yellow

Thursday 12 September was an action-packed day, both in boarding and at school. It was Baudin's Pink Fundraising Day for Breast Cancer Research, National R U OK? Day and Walk to School Day.  

The morning started off yellow in the Dining Hall with yellow bunting, coffee sticks, posters and a cooked breakfast of eggs, bacon and hash browns.  

Mrs Freeman then hopped in the bus and took boarders to the Walk to School Day. The day had quickly turned pink before the walk ready for Baudin's annual fundraiser for breast cancer. I must say that was probably one of the best turnouts I've seen at the school with almost every student and staff member wearing some pink.  

Lunch time came around, Chef Nick Harvey and his team served burgers up at school for the boarders, Mrs Jess Bessen brought up some of the R U OK? merchandise to keep the conversation going.  

After school it was time to be yellow again.  Yellow cupcakes and kit-kats for afternoon tea. Finally, during Prep, Endeavour and Anchorage Houses took part in a small activity about how you ask someone if they are ok.  Please enjoy some photos of the day.

Boarding Forum

Thank you to all the families who attended our Boarding Forum today, it was a wonderful turnout with a lot of important information shared from the school and many questions answered from families. Thank you to Mr Mathew Irving for providing some details around the boarding review and to Mrs Emma Franklin, Mr Ashley Keatch, Mr Taylor Colton, Ms Liz Stewart, Mrs Nyree Mackenzie, Ms Rebecca Davies and Chef James McNeil for joining us on the panel of speakers. Also, thanks to our student panel of Brianna Cunningham, Steven Wiech, Chloe Climie and Amy Medway for sharing their thoughts of boarding through their eyes.

During the forum, we had a break for lunch prepared by our catering staff, a big thanks to them. We look forward to having even more families join us next year.
