Learning the Elements of Art

This term, we have been focusing on the Elements of Art through Artist Studies. So far, we have studied artworks by Henri Matisse and Wassily Kandinsky by recreating different parts of their work. We have created different types of lines, experimented with different mediums, and explored how to colour-match paint by mixing our own colours.

Students in our junior classes have been experimenting with oil pastels while recreating artworks by Henri Matisse.

Our seniors have been having fun trialling different mediums using a chosen artwork as inspiration.
