Opening Mass 2026

On Thursday 19 February, we gathered as a faith community to celebrate our Opening Mass for 2026—a moment that marks not just the start of a new school year, but the beginning of a shared journey grounded in hope, unity, and the values of our Catholic tradition.
The Opening Mass is always a special occasion for Nazareth. This is a meaningful time to pause, to breathe, and to reflect on the many gifts that shape our school community. Gratitude grounds us. It reminds us of the people who support us, the opportunities we’re given, and the shared journey we’re on together.
As we look ahead, we also open our hearts to God’s guidance and blessing. We ask for wisdom in our decisions, compassion in our relationships, and strength in our challenges. May our school continue to be a place where every person is valued, encouraged, and inspired to grow.
This year, we warmly welcomed each of our Year 7 house groups as they joined us for their very first school Mass—an important milestone as they begin their Nazareth story. We also celebrated our 2026 student leaders and Vinnies members, who had their badges blessed, symbolising their commitment to leadership, service, and compassion throughout the year.
We were blessed to have Father Vincy D’Costa preside over the Mass, sharing messages of encouragement, faith, and community. His presence and words helped remind us of our mission: to learn with wisdom, lead with courage, and serve with love.
Adding to the beauty of the celebration, our Choir and Youth Ministry classes performed several new pieces, enriching the mass with music that lifted our spirits and brought the community together in song.
Overall, it was a truly thoughtful and joyful way to welcome the new school year—a celebration grounded in faith, community, and the promise of what lies ahead for us all.
