YEAR 13 STUDENTS

Over the last two weeks, we have had 17 2025 Year 12 students come and support the transition of our Year 7 students as part of the Year 13 mentor program.

These students have been a great support, especially with ICT and organisation.

The Year 7 students were very grateful for their support, and the Year 13 students thoroughly enjoyed this experience. We are very grateful to our Year 13 students and wish them all the best as they begin the next chapter of their lives outside of Nazareth College.

YEAR 7 INFORMATION NIGHT AND FAMILY BBQ

On Wednesday 11 February, the College provided a BBQ dinner for Year 7 students and families to meet and share before the Year 7 Information Evening. It was well attended and provided families with an opportunity to meet informally with their child’s Pastoral teacher before the information session. We are very grateful to parents who attended, as we strive to work in a strong partnership together. We are also grateful to our staff members who came along to meet with families, and to the Nazareth College Community Association members and Year 13 students who helped with the BBQ. It was a great Community night.

VCE AND VM INFORMATION SESSIONS

The VCE and Vocational Major information sessions were held on Wednesday 11 February. They were well attended and a good source of information for families, so that we can work together as a team.  If you do require any further information about your child’s learning program, please do not hesitate to contact the College.

GRATITUDE

Our 2026 college theme is gratitude. We want to give thanks to God for the outstanding students we have at Nazareth and the great start people have made to the year, as well as for the new, wonderful staff members we have been blessed with.

LENT

As a Church, we move this week into the season of Lent. We take time to reflect, pray, give alms, and fast as we endeavour to attach ourselves more to Jesus Christ and detach from many distractions as we journey towards Easter.

A reminder that each Thursday morning, there is Mass in the Chapel at 8.10am, and this could be a great way to live the Lenten call to prayer each week.

The Ashes were distributed yesterday to all students during an Ash Wednesday Prayer service. Students attending camp also participated in the prayer service to mark the beginning of the season of Lent.

HIGH ACHIEVERS

Last week, we acknowledged and celebrated the high achievers of the class of 2025. It was wonderful to see a good turnout of parents and family members. We reminded students that we are all in this learning Community to grow in Faith, Wisdom, and Knowledge, and that all our students need to take responsibility for their own learning. We encourage students to set goals for their own growth and development in their learning journey, and we encourage parents to support.
