Year 10 Concept Art and Digital Rendering (CAnDR)

Year 10 Concept Art and Digital Rendering students have hit the ground running working through an Art-Making Process to create their own Concept Art Landscape art pieces using a digital medium. Students have so far been working manually and digitally, through producing Brainstorming and Mood Board pages, to explore potential ideas for these future artworks.

Year 7 Family BBQ

It was great to see so many Year 7 students and their families come along to the BBQ last Wednesday evening. Despite the rain, the families took the opportunity to meet with their child's pastoral teachers and Heads of House. Students were able to make new connections and especially enjoyed the Zooper Doopers!

Shining a Spotlight

Tori Kammel

A huge round of applause for Tori Kammel (Year 12, 2025), who has had her VCE Media piece selected from over 400 entries to be displayed as one of the 15 entries for the prestigious VCE Top Screens, as part of the VCE Season of Excellence this year!

Tori’s Media music video, Black Box Warrior – OKULTRA will be screened at ACMI as well as on display, along with her folio, at the Melbourne Museum as part of the Top Screens exhibition opening this March! She will also be sharing her expertise and experiences of making her music video through the Meet the Filmmakers talk series hosted by the VCAA at ACMI.

We encourage the Nazareth College community to support Tori’s achievements and see her music video on display when the exhibition opens to the public!

We are very proud of Tori’s efforts, and we wish her every success with her university studies in the Bachelor of Fine Arts (Production) at the University of Melbourne commencing this year. We are excited to see where her incredible talents take her next!

Ruan Pasuleti

We’re proud to shine a spotlight on one of our youngest and brightest Year 12 students.

Ruan isn’t just the youngest in his cohort—he will complete Year 12 while still only 16 years old. Despite being around two years younger than his classmates, he has already packed more into his Nazareth journey than many manage in an entire secondary education.

Ruan joined Nazareth in Year 8 at the “grown‑up” age of 11, after being home‑schooled during his later primary years. He settled in beautifully, quickly proving that age is no barrier to ambition.

By Year 11, Ruan was already accelerating in Year 12 General Maths and Chemistry, and this year he is completing an impressive load: English Language, Specialist Maths, Maths Methods, Physics and Youth Ministry. He has a particular passion for Youth Ministry and especially enjoys working with children from our neighbouring primary schools. Not bad for someone who is still only 15!

Recently, Ruan received an award at our High Achievers Assembly for his strong results in the Year 12 General Maths Exam—another well‑earned accomplishment on an already bursting résumé.

His achievements extend well beyond the classroom.

In Year 10, Ruan was invited to apply for the University of Melbourne’s Kwong Lee Dow Young Scholars Program, and in Year 11 he received the Arthur Williams Junior Citizenship Award from Noble Park Rotary—recognising both community involvement and academic excellence. Only six students were nominated for this honour, making his achievement even more outstanding.

Ruan also gives generously of his time across the Nazareth community. He is involved in Vinnies, St Anthony’s tutoring, the School Ambassador Team, serves as a Year 12 House Leader for McAuley, and contributes to the Nazareth Child Safety Committee. He also hosts the ever‑popular E‑Sports Club in H1‑39 most afternoons.

Among all his responsibilities, Ruan is particularly excited for the fun side of Year 12—especially the dress‑up days. He’s already wondering whether his chosen costume will survive a dip at the Swimming Carnival!

We celebrate this remarkable young Nazarene and all he brings to our community. Ruan, we hope you have a fantastic birthday in March—and good luck adding your L‑plates to your already very full Year 12 schedule!

Nathan L'Etang

Each Monday, we are blessed with the assistance of Nathan in the Joseph Centre and Library. As a book lover who undertook work experience at Springvale Library, and a renowned Nazareth artist, it is lovely to have such a creative and helpful person in the college. You can see Nathan's art around the campus.

Jack Smedile

Returning to the Joseph Centre as a Learning Support Office, Jack brings with him a wealth of experience in the TAFE system, and within community and health services. His ability to connect with students allows him to encourage them with their learning, particularly in VCE Vocational Major and in VET subjects.

As a past student he understands the challenges and stressors associated with senior studies, and his optimistic approach to life helps our students see the sun will still rise tomorrow and that building resilience is a life skill.
