SWPBS Focus: Inclusion – Everyone Belongs

Over the past few weeks, our school community has been actively engaged in learning about our SWPBS focus of Inclusion.

Inclusion is all about ensuring every student feels safe, valued, respected, and like they truly belong. Throughout this focus, students explored how our differences—whether in our learning, interests, backgrounds, or abilities—make our school a stronger and more vibrant place.

Students participated in a range of learning experiences to understand what inclusion looks like, sounds like, and feels like across the school. They practised:

  • Inviting others to join in games and group activities
  • Using kind and respectful language
  • Showing empathy and understanding towards others
  • Celebrating the diversity within our school community

Through discussions, role-plays, and real-life scenarios, students developed a deeper understanding of how their actions can help others feel included. It has been wonderful to see so many students demonstrating these behaviours in the classroom and in the yard, and being recognised through our SWPBS acknowledgement systems.

This focus has helped strengthen our shared commitment to creating a school where everyone feels a strong sense of belonging and is supported to thrive.

We encourage families to continue these conversations at home by talking about kindness, fairness, and ways to include others in everyday situations.
