Acting Principal's Message

We are at the end of our first term already! This term has flown by! Thank you to all our families who have supported our students and staff across a very full term of learning and transitions.

Thank you to all the staff and families who supported the district athletics carnival. I have been very impressed with the feedback I have received about our representing students. They displayed our school values (Respect, Responsibility and Resilience) beautifully. We are looking to purchase a new gazebo for such events. If you know of any good ones, please let us know.

The grade three and five students also completed NAPLAN assessments over the past couple of weeks. I am sure the students and teachers feel much better knowing that this is now completed for another year. We will provide the results when we receive these later in the school year. Thank you to Ms Watson who coordinated this.

We also had a visit from Sexual Health Victoria to speak to permitted students in grade five and six about Menstruation. This is not in replacement of puberty education, however, was a fantastic supportive program that we were lucky enough to access.

The students also enjoyed a casual day and hot dog lunch provided by the school last week. Thank you to Carly and Megan for organising this one. The students enjoyed the hot dogs! This was a fun activity that joined our students together as they sat and ate their hot dogs in each other's company.

Please remember our Parent Teacher Conferences next Wednesday. If you haven't booked one already and would like to, reach out to our school office. School will finish at 12pm, with our first meetings starting at 12:30. If you require a rescheduling, please let us know.

We also welcomed our existing and new school council members this week. We would like to thank Jaana and Peta for continuing their engagement in GSPS, returning for another term. Also, a big thank you to Tara, our new school council president and Skye for joining the team. I look forward to working with you all on council.

Have an amazing final week of term one!
