Cadet Report

Fifteen cadets braved the cold in the July holidays to attend Promotion and Specialist Courses. With mornings as low as -1, the cadets were certainly testing their resilience. Two cadets left the luxuries of the National Service Lines to head out bush to try their hands at the Survival Course. Although very cold and with minimal gear, both Alexander McAdam and Charli Young came back with big smiles and many new skills.
To ensure that we continue to build on our leadership group the remaining cadets attended the leadership course -Junior and Senior Leadership as well as CUO/WO course. These cadets spent many hours in the classroom and on the parade ground learning many new and refining those already learned. From these Leadership camps there will be a number of promotions as positions become available.
Last Friday at our Cadet Parade afternoon the following cadets were promoted:
- SGT Pippi Mellington
- SGT Ciaran Behrendt
- SGT Jayde Brown
- SGT Max Carr
- LCPL Liam Withers
Evan Watson, Taylor Crane and Gywneth Homer were field promoted LCPL at the Monivae annual camp and now have the qualifications to go with their promotion. There will be further promotions throughout the remainder of the year.
