Winter Concert

Last night, Dalton Hall was filled to capacity for the Winter Concert, celebrating the musical journey of our students in the Junior School through to Year 8.

The large and enthusiastic audience enjoyed performances from more than 120 students in the Years 1 and 2 Choir, Klefs Choir, Intermediate String Orchestra, Intermezzo Suzuki Strings, Cello Ensemble, Junior Guitar Ensemble and Kadenza Concert Band.

The Concert also provided an opportunity to feature solo performances across a wide range of instruments including strings, piano, saxophone, percussion and voice.

Congratulations to Harrison Zhou, Lili Metz, Jermone McClimont, Jiawei Chen, Chelsey Li, Ryan Lu, Rowen Zhang, Sam Loft, Noah Ha and Sylvie Metz for their wonderful performances.

Well done to all of the students who performed in the Concert, and thank you to all of the Music staff, especially our Junior School Music Coordinator, Fiona Radford.

VCE Unit 3 Music Performance Recital

Congratulations to our VCE Unit 3 musicians, who performed in their Semester 1 Recital on Wednesday 28 May. The audience was treated to a range of musical styles, and all students performed to a high standard that showcased their hard work and dedication.

Years 2 and 3 String Program Concert - 17 June

Our Years 2 and 3 String Program Concert is a wonderful opportunity for students to showcase the skills they’ve developed throughout the semester. They have been learning a variety of pieces and building foundational technique on their instruments.

Parents, friends and staff are warmly invited to come along and support our young musicians!

Year 5 Band Concert - 19 June

Parents, friends and teachers are invited to attend the Semester 1 Year 5 Band Concert on Thursday 19 June, where you can hear the progress that the students (and Mr Collins) have been making on their new instruments this year.

The performance will commence at 11.30am and conclude at 12.00pm in Dalton Hall.

Keyboard Collaboration Piano Recital – 19 June

We're delighted to invite all piano enthusiasts to the Keyboard Collaboration Piano Recital, showcasing the talent of our piano students.

Students have been diligently rehearsing their pieces and will be presenting a unique and exciting repertoire. The recital will commence promptly at 5.30pm in Dalton Hall. We hope to see you there!

Victorian School Music Festival – 26 August

The Kilvington Concert Band will perform at the Victorian School Music Festival on Tuesday 26 August. The Band will depart Kilvington at 2.30pm and return around 7.00pm. Parents and friends are welcome to attend their performance at the Hawthorn Arts Centre!

Paul McDermott Violin Scholarship

Established in 1980 to honour the much-loved violinist, conductor and founder of the Australian Musicians' Guild, Paul McDermott, this scholarship continues to support outstanding young Victorian violinists.

The $1500 award offers a unique opportunity for performance and further study, recognising exceptional talent in players under 15.

Auditions for this year's competition will take place on Sunday, 3 August. Students who wish to audition should submit their applications by Friday, 18 July 2025. Find more information here. To apply for the audition, click here.
