2025 Da Vinci Decathlon Competition - A celebration of curiosity, creativity and collaboration
In late May and early June, select students from Years 5 to 9 proudly represented Kilvington at the State Da Vinci Decathlon.
This prestigious academic competition challenges students to excel across ten disciplines: Ideation, Mathematics, English, Art and Poetry, Cartography, Creative Producers, General Knowledge, Science, Engineering, and Code Breaking. Inspired by the genius of Leonardo da Vinci, the Decathlon encourages students to think critically, solve complex problems, and collaborate across a wide range of academic disciplines.
This year’s theme was Light, and the day was filled with bright ideas, teamwork and spirited competition.
We're immensely proud of all our Junior and Senior School students who took part in the Da Vinci Decathlon. Their passion for learning, ability to collaborate, and commitment to excellence exemplify the values of curiosity, courage and respect.
Competition Highlights:
- Year 5 Team – 1st in Science and 3rd overall – an incredible achievement.
- Year 6 Team – 1st in Ideation.
- Year 8 Team – 15th overall, placing in the top half of the State.
- Year 9 Team – 3rd in Ideation, 3rd in Legacy, and 4th overall out of 26 schools – a remarkable result.
