Roselea Athletics Carnival

On August 8th, Roselea students gathered at Carlingford Oval for our annual Athletics Carnival. The day was filled with excitement, with everyone eager to push themselves to achieve their best. The events kicked off with the 100m races for our 8-year-olds, followed by the older age groups.

A standout moment of the day was the 100m finals, where the fastest runners in each age group demonstrated their speed and athletic skill.

Later in the afternoon, finalists in shot put and long jump returned to the school oval to compete against their personal bests. A special mention goes to Finn from 6L, our national high jump champion, who set a new school record by clearing 1.47m.

Good luck to all our Roselea athletes who will compete at the Beecroft Zone Athletics Carnival.

A big thank you to the parents and carers who attended and helped make the day a success.

Stage 2 Netball

In true Olympic spirit, our Stage 2 boys’ and girls’ netball teams are shining examples of sportsmanship, commitment, and fair play. Each player has shown growth in their skills and gameplay, making every match an exciting event.

Two weeks ago, we played Pennant Hills with the girls securing a win with a score of 16-11. The boys’ team were up 3-1 for the first half of the game, but ended with a score of 8-4 to Pennant Hills. Elaine and Oliver demonstrated exceptional goalkeeping defence at one end, with Elise and Henry scoring key goals at the other!

In our latest matches against Beecroft Public School, both games were very close with the boys winning 15-14 in an exciting finish and the girls coming very close with a score of 14-13 to Beecroft. Zara, Samuel and Boris exhibited outstanding shooting accuracy. Ingram and Teagan provided excellent teamwork and support near the circle to assist the goal-shooters.

Our training sessions have been a hive of enthusiasm and activity, with students eager to improve and refine their techniques. A stunning rainbow at our latest training session added a touch of magic to our hard work.

Our Stage 2 Roselea Netball teams are making us proud with every game and training session.  Keep up the fantastic work!
