Wonderful Week 3
We had a brilliant Public Education Week at Roselea PS. It all started on Tuesday morning with our open day, assembly, and picnic recess. I would like to sincerely thank all the parents and carers who took time out of their busy schedules to attend the event. We have never had more parents and carers come for open day, and please believe me when I say how much of a difference it made to your children. It is great when they can see the connection between school and home. Thank you.
The fun continued on Thursday with our rescheduled Athletics Carnival. I would like to thank Mr So and Mr Yu for their organisation of the event, which had to be cancelled three times. We ran a different program than usual, but the students still had a great time and got involved in the events. Our K-2 carnival was also a resounding success, with many stickers and smiling faces (and perhaps a few sore parents after the parent races!).
Week 4
This week is Bullying No Way Week, which ties in nicely with the new NSW Department of Education Anti-Racism strategy. You will find more information about this in the upcoming events section of the newsletter. Around the school, you will see some new posters about anti-bullying as well as our ARCO officers. These will support some of the conversations teachers will be having with our students during class this week.
As I mentioned during the Education Week Assembly, among many things, there are two key concepts I hope students leave Roselea with a deep understanding of:
Consistent effort is the key. If we always try our best, then we should always be proud of our achievements.
Respect. Regardless of whether we are great friends with someone, disagree with their opinion, don’t understand their point of view, or think they are wrong, we can always show people respect through our actions, words, and how we listen.
During this week, I encourage you to have this conversation at home.
Book Week Parade
Next week, we have our Book Week parade on Monday. Please read on in the newsletter to find out more information about the event.
Kindy Orientation
We have our first 2025 Kindy Orientation Evening coming up on 5th September. This is a reminder that if you have a child starting Kindy in 2025, please contact our office so that you can receive all the details for this important evening. If you have neighbours who are coming to Roselea next year, I would appreciate it if you could pass on this information if they haven’t already enrolled.
Illness
As we move through the winter period, it's important to keep our community healthy. If your child is feeling unwell, we kindly ask that you keep them at home to rest and recover. This helps prevent the spread of illness and ensures that all our students and staff can continue learning in a safe environment.
