News from the Deputy Principal

Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome back to all our students and families for the final term of the school year! We hope you enjoyed a restful break and are feeling refreshed and ready for a busy, exciting and rewarding Term 4.
SunSmart Policy Reminder
As we head into the warmer months, our SunSmart policy is now in full effect. Please help us keep our students safe and sun-smart by remembering the following:
- Hats are essential: All students must wear a broad-brimmed school hat during recess, lunch and PE activities. Students without a hat will be directed to play in shaded areas, such as under the shade sails or other covered structures. Please ensure your child’s hat is clearly labelled with their name.
- Water bottles: Please ensure your child brings a refillable water bottle to school each day to stay hydrated.
- Summer uniform: Please ensure students are dressed in the correct summer uniform.
Thank you for supporting us in keeping our students safe and comfortable as the weather warms up.
Bushfire Safety and Preparedness
As we enter the warmer months, bushfire preparedness remains a key priority for our school community. We continue to work in line with relevant emergency management guidelines to ensure our students and staff are prepared and know what to do in an emergency.
- Check your contact details: Please ensure your phone numbers, emergency contact details, hospital and Medicare details, and email addresses are current in Nforma. Having accurate information is essential to ensure we can communicate with families quickly and reliably during an emergency.
- Extreme and Catastrophic Fire Danger Days: On days rated Extreme or Catastrophic, school operations will be guided by our Emergency Management Plan and the relevant MACS and emergency management requirements. This may include pre-planned school closures or modified routines, depending on the level of risk and the advice provided. Families will be notified promptly via Facebook and email. Please read the Bushfire Safety information and accompanying questions and answers in this newsletter to learn more about our arrangements and how you can prepare your family for the upcoming fire season.
- Emergency drills: Being prepared is everyone's responsibility. Students and staff have already participated in routine bushfire safety drills this term and will take part in an off-site evacuation drill in early November. These drills help ensure everyone understands the procedures and can respond calmly and safely if an emergency occurs.
Thank you for taking the time to familiarise yourself with our bushfire safety procedures and for helping us keep our school community safe.

Our Parents and Friends (P&F) Association plays a valuable role in bringing our school community together and supporting school events and programs. We are always delighted to welcome new faces and fresh ideas!
Whether you can spare an hour to lend a hand at an event, help with an activity or simply drop in to share your ideas, every contribution makes a difference. Being involved is a wonderful way to connect with other families and help make our school an even more vibrant and welcoming community.
