From the Year Prep Classroom

Welcome to all our Prep Families and welcome to a brand-new school year! We have had such a wonderful start, and it has been an absolute joy getting to know the children and watching them settle into school life. 

The Prep students have been busy learning what school looks like and feels like; from learning classroom routines, listening to stories, exploring new spaces, and making new friends. We are so proud of how confidently they are coming into the classroom each day and giving everything a go! 

One of the biggest highlights so far has been time spent with their buddies at recess and lunchtime. The children have loved playing, chatting, and getting to know their buddies, and it has been lovely to see these special friendships develop helping our prep students feel happy and safe at school. 

The children also enjoyed their first specialist day on Monday, where they eagerly joined in a range of fun activities across STEAM, Italian, and Sport. It was lovely to see their excitement as they explored new learning spaces and gave each activity a go! 

Thank you to the families who were able to attend their child’s 1:1 testing day on Wednesday. These sessions give us valuable insight into what each child knows and help guide their learning moving forward. For families yet to attend, please keep an eye on your emails for your scheduled testing day, as it can be difficult to make up if missed. We also encourage families to use this day as a rest day, as our little people can feel quite tired while adjusting to the new school routine. Thank you for your ongoing support. 

We are so proud of how well the children are settling in and can’t wait to see all the learning, growing, and fun that lies ahead this year! 

Upcoming Events & Reminders 

• Assembly on Friday we would love to see you there if you can make it! @2.45pm in the Mercy Centre  
• Ensure your child has a hat each day and clearly labelled as well as their drink bottle, and lunch boxes 
• Specialist and library timetable has been sent home with your child  

• Important date: School Photo Day - 5th March
