Deputy Principal Staff and Students Report

GRATITUDE

As we live this year trying to grow in this important gratitude, I am drawn to give thanks for the staff members of our school who take hours and hours planning learning opportunities for our students in and outside of the classroom. We are indeed very blessed to have the highly professional and exceptionally generous staff that we have at the college.

We also have a great team of non-teaching staff (i.e. in the Health Centre, IT Department, Students Services) and our Learning Support Officers who do an amazing job and are so kind thoughtful and considerate of our children. We are indeed blessed to have such a great team, as well as the fantastic young people we are blessed to have in our community. As we say frequently at our school tours, when they present as our tour guides, they are our greatest strength. We give thanks to God for all the wonderful people in our community.

CHILD SAFETY

This month we are looking at Child Safe Standard 5: ‘Equity is upheld and diverse needs respected in policy and practice’. Please see attached :

MOTHERS' DAY

On Sunday we celebrated Mothers' Day and are reminded of the beautiful and blessed gifts our Mothers, Grandmothers and Motherly figures are in our lives. It was beautiful to see the students together with their mothers at our Mother’s Day breakfast on Friday morning. Thank you to all the mums and students who came early to celebrate with us. We hope it continued into the weekend for all the mums.

LOOKING AHEAD

We are quickly moving towards the middle part of the Term. It is time for us to work on our perseverance and consistency with work. We are aiming this year to lift student learning through students taking more responsibility for their own learning and simply working harder. The time to be working hard is not only for a few days before exams or when assessments are due but consistently throughout the Term. As we work together in partnership for the best outcomes for your child, we encourage Parents, Guardians and Carers to be working with us in supporting consistent work habits from our students.

MAY - THE MONTH OF MARY

In the Church the month of May is especially dedicated to Our Blesse Mother. As the community of Nazareth we turn to our Blessed Mother and ask her to pray for us all, to unite our community and to help us to be like her, the people we have been created to be.

Holy Family of Nazareth – Be our inspiration and our guide.

Jesus of Nazareth – Help us to grow in faith wisdom and knowledge.

God Bless.
