Our Learning Support Officers (LSOs) play a vital role in supporting our students attending TAFE and VETDSS programs each week. For many students, navigating a large TAFE environment can be overwhelming and challenging. Travelling to unfamiliar campuses, managing timetables, locating classrooms, communicating with trainers, and adapting to more independent learning environments can take significant confidence and resilience.

Our LSOs provide invaluable support throughout this process, helping students feel safe, confident, and supported as they build important life and employability skills. From assisting with organisation and routines to offering encouragement during practical learning activities, their presence helps students successfully engage in their vocational pathways and develop greater independence over time.

The patience, care, flexibility, and dedication shown by our LSOs has a significant impact on student wellbeing and success. Their support not only helps students access their learning, but also empowers them to participate in opportunities that will help shape their future pathways.
