Principal's Report

Dear Parents/Guardians and Friends of Nazareth

Learning is our Priority!

Over the past couple of weeks, we have continued to explore new ways to improve learning at Nazareth. Staff and students have adopted targeted learning strategies in the hope of embedding a deeper understanding and consolidating knowledge in our quest for academic excellence. Research clearly shows that direct links between school buildings, furniture and school resources are vital for promoting student engagement. Nazareth has invested heavily in optimising these learning environments to ensure we reap the best possible learning outcomes for our students in the future.

Our classroom learning strategies are grounded in proven educational research and aligned with the Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS) Vision for Learning. This unified approach fosters a positive, structured environment where student growth remains central. We believe every student has the right to learn in a safe setting without disruptions. We actively encourage all students to strive for excellence and to take pride in their learning. Our expectation is that students consistently produce their best work.  We do not accept mediocrity, instead, we aim to cultivate a culture of high expectations, strong effort and ongoing achievement.

I strongly encourage families to work in partnership with our teaching staff.  When your child is encouraged to improve, asked to attend homework club, or invited to participate in after hours coursework support, we ask that you actively support these efforts. By working together, we can motivate our students to complete their tasks to the highest standard and reach their full potential.

We are also currently assessing the number of excursions and interruptions to classroom learning. Moving forward, we are introducing processes to reduce these disruptions while maintaining the daily and weekly focus on classroom learning. Our goal is to strike a fair balance between external activities and core academic experiences, ensuring we maintain student interest and engagement without compromising instructional time. Learning in the classroom remains our primary priority as our academic culture continues to strengthen.

In conclusion, I would like to congratulate five of our students who were selected to represent the Southern Independent Schools (SIS) Swimming Squad. The SIS selection committee chose the students to compete against other member grammar schools and associations. Congratulations to Miguel Lobangco, Rainn Lee, Raven Lee, Andrew Dinh and Lucas Dinh.

God Bless.
