Dr Venus Ganis - Visual Arts

There is a lot happening in the Visual Arts this term with our Visual Arts Studio class underway on Friday afterschool, with our guest artist in residence – Dr Karike Ashworth.

Karike has been guiding students into eco dyeing and bookbinding through exploring and mapping ‘place’. Students have started to create natural dye bundles using tea, onion skins and plant materials, allowing the sun to transform their papers with organic colour and texture. These dyed pages have then been constructed into a small square hand-stitched artist books, in which students will develop further through graphite drawing, frottage and subtle stitching techniques.

Also, our Year 12 Visual Art students have finalised artworks for their Graduate exhibition - ARTSKAPE 2026 - featuring their body of work developed from their sustained inquiry commence in October last year.
