Physical Education and Sport Recreation

Excursion to Carlton Football Club

Reservoir High School Students visit Carlton Football Club

Our Year 11 Physical Education and Sport Recreation students, along with selected students, attended a fantastic day at the home of Carlton Football Club, Ikon Park on Thursday, 23rd October.

This was completely funded by Latrobe University with whom we have a wonderful partnership and which provides many great opportunities for our students across all year levels.

On the day, we toured the Carlton facilities and were lucky enough to be on site when the Carlton AFLW team were walking around the buildings and training.

Students enjoyed seeing all of the state-of-the-art facilities, including: recovery area, huge strength and conditioning gymnasium and the indoor football ground on which our students loved having a kick.

Students heard from three past students of the Carlton College of Sport and how their experiences, education and training at the College of Sport enabled them to progress to the pathways and positions within the club they hold now. It was great for our students to hear how these students followed their passion of sport and recreation and of the opportunities for our students, should they like to follow this pathway.

We were then treated to an incredible lunch, while watching the Carlton AFLW team train on Ikon Park.
