Year 7D Chinatown Chinese Museum Excursion
On Wednesday, our Year 7D students embarked on an exciting and enriching excursion to the Chinatown Chinese Museum. Led by Ms Sabrina Zhu and Ms Tsuey Hau, the group spent the day exploring Melbourne’s vibrant Chinese cultural precinct and deepening their understanding of Chinese history, migration, and traditions.

Students enjoyed a guided tour through the museum’s galleries, where they learned about early Chinese settlement in Australia, traditional festivals and the stories of Chinese communities over time. They were particularly fascinated by the Gold Rush exhibits, historical artefacts and interactive displays that brought the past to life.
The excursion also provided valuable opportunities for students to connect their learning to their Chinese language studies. Many were excited to recognise characters, cultural symbols and concepts which they have been studying in class. Ms Zhu and Ms Hau were delighted by the students’ enthusiasm, curiosity and thoughtful questions throughout the day.
This excursion not only strengthened students’ cultural awareness but also encouraged them to appreciate the richness and diversity of our multicultural society. We look forward to offering more such meaningful learning experiences in the future.
