Welcome BBQ Kicks Off the School Year
The St. Margaret’s community gathered for a delightful evening to mark the start of the new school year. With perfect weather on display students, staff, and families enjoyed a relaxed atmosphere with delicious food and engaging conversations.
New students connected with peers, while friendly games and picnic rugs fostered the laughter of old friendships.
The event was a warm reminder that at St. Margaret’s, everyone is welcome.
Thanks to the trusty BBQ crew who happily sizzled the sausages and to the staff who helped serve the fresh fruit donated by The Melbourne Pear Company. A huge shout out to our resident DJ Sebastian, for rounding out the evening with some chilled beats.
Judging by the atmosphere, 2025 is going to be awesome!
Compassion Meals
At St. Margaret’s we proudly have a community based on kindness, compassion and support. With this we are excited to introduce a new initiative for our community: Compassion Meals
Compassion Meals will provide support to families during challenging times. Examples of (but not limited to) these times may be due to a death in the family, illness, or the arrival of a newborn child. We understand that these life events can be disruptive to day to day life including meal time. Compassion Meals will call on volunteers within our school community to provide your family with a home made meal that you are able to heat at home. We can, when required, provide lunch for your child/children.
Everything is anonymous. If you find yourself experiencing a challenging time and just need a home cooked meal please contact the office. Your name, nor the reason for your request, will not be given out to who is supplying the meal. All that information will be dealt with by the staff. All they will do is pass on how many meals for how many family members. Please remember to let the office know if there are any allergies that need to be catered for.
Alternatively, we know help is a difficult thing to ask for so if you know of a family who may be in need of a little helping hand please don’t hesitate to speak to the office. They will organise for someone on the Compassion Meals team to get cooking!
Request for volunteers
In order to get this all working and our community supported volunteers will be needed to provide compassion meals for others. If you are interested in joining our Compassion Meals team in any way please contact Lisa Trumino via the P & F committee on parentsfriends@smmaribyrnong.catholic.edu.au
