Prayer

Ash Wednesday 2025:  5 March

Praying during Lent this year

Lent offers us all a very special opportunity to grow in our relationship with God and to deepen our commitment to a way of life, rooted in our baptism.

In our busy world, Lent provides us with an opportunity to reflect upon our patterns, to pray more deeply, experience sorrow for what we've done and failed to do, and to be generous to those in need.

Please join us for Mass at 9:15am on Wednesday 5 March which is being led by Year 5A.

Let us Pray

Father of my soul, Mother of my heart,

I know your love for me is limitless beyond imagining.

You care for me as a loving parent.

Through my smallest Lenten sacrifices,

help me to become less selfish and more aware of your ways.

Fan the flame of my desire to draw ever closer to you.

Guide me to seek your love.

We ask this through Christ our Lord,

Amen.

Spanning across the 6 weeks of Lent each year, Project Compassion brings thousands of Australian schools, parishes, and supporters together to raise funds for people living in some of the most vulnerable communities across the world.

St. Margaret’s is pleased to announce that we will be participating in Project Compassion again this year. Last year, our school community contributed $465.90 to Caritas Australia through Project Compassion Box.

Tomorrow, 5 March, is the beginning of Lent, and each family will receive a Project Compassion Box via their eldest child. These boxes do not need to be returned until the first week of Term 2.

Thank you for your continued support.
