Year Three/Four News

Weeks 9 & 10 Summary
By Mason HR, Evie A & Andrew Brook (B1)
Welcome, this is the newsletter :). During the two dates, March 31, April 1, we have had our Student Led Conferences where the students show their portfolio for the term, so their parents can see what they learned about. The parents will take their children to the school at a certain time to meet the teacher.
In Reading, the students have been learning about the books, Fire, Looking After Country with Fire and Bindi. The students have been doing hard work on their reading responses, and they were very excited about showing their good copies of everything.
In this first term of Writing, we wrote an Information Report about a chosen Australian Animal. To learn more about our animals, we went to the Wildlife Park to see the animals. The teachers then printed it ready for the conference.
For the first term in Maths, we have been learning about Vertical Addition and Vertical Subtraction. We have also started working on Data and Graphing information. The students have been hard workers to finish their work! The kids also learnt about renaming numbers to make it easier to solve hard equations. So they definitely deserve their break!
In Humanities, we looked at Geography and Australia as a whole. They looked at the Climax, Flora (Plants + Flowers) and Fauna (Animals). We have also been focusing on a presentation about a chosen state. They also learnt about the different state capitals, and different landmarks all over the community of Australia.
Thanks for reading!
