Principal's Report

We, at Miners Rest Primary School, would like to acknowledge the Wadawurrung people of the Kulin Nation.
We pay our respects and thank the Wadawurrung people. May we share your land. We promise to look after it, as well as the animals and people too.
Annual privacy reminder for our school community
Our school collects and uses student and parent personal information for standard school functions or where permitted by law, as stated in the Schools’ privacy policy and the Schools’ privacy collection notice.
Our Photographing, Filming and Recording Students policy describes how we collect and use photographs, video and recordings of students. The policy also explains when parent consent is required and how it can be provided and withdrawn.
We ask parents to also review the guidance we provide on how we use student technology safely at the school and what parents can do to further protect their child’s information. If after reviewing the guidance, you have any questions or concerns regarding your child using technology, please contact the school.
For more information about privacy, refer to: Schools’ privacy policy: information for parents.
Student Led Conferences
We have received lots of positive feedback from families in relation to our Student Led Conferences. This week families received Learning Statements for each of their children outlining learning achievements and learning goals, this was then followed by our Student Led Conferences. The conferences have been developed to leverage the voice and agency of our students as learners. Please understand that if there are any issues regarding your child's learning, your child's classroom teacher will always make contact as required in a timely manner. Further to this, if you, as a parent have any concerns or wish to have a deeper discussion regarding your child's learning, please do not hesitate to contact your child's classroom teacher via email or phone call at any time.
Happy Holidays!
We wish our entire school community a happy, safe and relaxing holiday and we thank each and every one of you for your support throughout the first term of the year. We look forward to engaging with you next term through our ANZAC Day Ceremony and we are also looking forward to many engaging events including the Book Fair, Melbourne Writers' Festival for our LEAP Team, Year 5 Camp, Bulldogs Read Excursion to Whitten Oval and much more. Stay tuned through our weekly newsletter.
With the very best wishes,
Kylie Nissen
