A prayer for the Feast of Mary MacKillop

Loving God, we thank you for Saint Mary MacKillop,

Who saw a need and responded with a caring heart.

Guide us to follow her example of courage and grace,

Bringing hope and compassion to every time and place.

Teach us to serve others with patience, faith, and love,

To never seeing a need without trying to do something about it.

May her spirit of kindness inspire our school community today,

As we join together in faith and share your light every day.

Amen.

St  Roch’s Sacramental Program: Confirmation

It was wonderful to join together with all Year 6 students and families to begin the Confirmation program at out Family Faith Night. The students and parents explored the gifts of the Holy Spirit, identifying how they are living these out and which ones were important as a whole family.  Father Gallacher reminded us of how special this particular Sacrament is in terms of commiting fully to our faith and also receiving God's grace to go out and do many good works in our community.

Our Commitment Mass on Sunday night also reminded us of our close connection to our Parish and the parishioners who will pray for the candidates over this special time.

A big thank you to all of the 'Confirmation' team and families who are supporting this special faith milestone.

The Feast of Mary MacKillop: 8th August

Mary’s legacy of compassion has inspired hundreds of Australians to be better people, and to help those less fortunate. She gave her life to those who needed it, and her quote, “Never see a need without doing something about it,” has motivated generations of Australian Catholics to better themselves by giving generously, and to live humble lives.

Next week, students will be exploring the life of Mary MacKillop as a ‘spirit-filled' person in the history of the Catholic faith.

Students will be encouraged to ask: How can I follow in the footsteps of Mary MacKillop and share God's light with others?

All families are warmly welcome to join us for our whole school liturgy, led by our Year 6 leaders in the hall on Thursday 8 August at 3.00pm.
