St Roch’s School theme 2026:
"United in Faith, Sharing the Light"
Dear Families,
Welcome to Issue 12 for 2026 of our iNewsletter! We hope this newsletter continues to keep you up to date with all the news, events and learning that happens at St Roch's.
Celebrating Our Grandparents and Special Friends!
What a spectacular morning we had celebrating some of the most important people in our students' lives! We were absolutely thrilled to welcome over 100 grandparents and special friends into our school community and the energy across the school was pure joy.
The morning was packed with special moments. Our visitors stepped into the classrooms to see learning in action, enjoyed incredible presentations and student videos and were treated to a heartwarming performance by our wonderful Preps, whose singing brought smiles to everyone's faces. The celebrations wrapped up with a delicious morning tea, providing a lovely opportunity for our guests to mingle, chat and share stories.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who travelled near and far to join us.
Thank you for making the morning so unforgettable, for filling our classrooms with laughter and for being such a beautiful part of our school family.
We also thank our visitors for the generous book donations that have filled our beautiful library!! We are so grateful that we all have a love of reading at St Roch's!
While there are so many individuals to name, we are incredibly grateful to everyone who contributed.
A special thank you goes to our fantastic staff for supporting Bree’s wonderful idea to create student-made bookmarks for our visitors to cherish as she gave her mother Di when she was at St Roch's in Year 3!!
We also thank Jess Mount who is instrumental as always, behind the scenes assisting with the organisation and communication etc, etc.
Thank you all for making it a morning to remember!
A few words from Bree Lynch:
"We warmly welcomed over 100 Grandparents and Special Friends into our hall for a cuppa and morning tea as we celebrated one of the most cherished events on our school calendar.
From classroom visits and sharing treasured family photos to a cheeky video that brought plenty of laughs and a delightful performance by our Prep students, the morning was filled with joy and connection. Our Year 6 students were wonderful presenting the event and serving morning tea with confidence and care.
Our guests had the opportunity to purchase a book to donate to our library, helping grow our reading collection. As a thank you, students gave their Grandparent or Special Friend a handmade bookmark. We hope these bookmarks inspire many more stories to be shared together at home.
Bringing this special event to life takes many helping hands, with around 35 families contributing in one way or another. Their willingness to volunteer is a wonderful reflection of just how much our Grandparents and Special Friends mean to our school.

St Roch’s Community Catch-Up: Past & Present!
It takes a village and we happen to think the St Roch’s village is the absolute best.
A special message on behalf of Dave Sheehy to invite all past and current parents or anyone with a connection to St Rochs (including teachers) to attend this evening.
Bringing together our wonderful community for a casual social night! Whether your kids are currently in uniform, graduated years ago, or you used to teach at the school, you are warmly invited. There’s no agenda other than enjoying each other’s company, sharing a few stories and having a great night out.
Art Show - 9 October 2026 - Save the Date!
We are absolutely buzzing with excitement as we look forward to this year’s upcoming Art Show hosted and carefully curated by Mrs Anne Pullen! Centred around the magical theme of "Light and Illuminating," our school community is set to be dazzled by the sheer creativity on display. Our talented students have been incredibly busy creating breathtaking artwork that captures the essence of brilliance, explores how light interacts with the world around us, and shines a bright spotlight on their unique artistic voices. From vibrant uses of color to brilliant, glowing masterpieces, their hard work truly embodies the theme. We cannot wait to welcome you all to this spectacular showcase and let our students' creativity truly shine!
