VSAC Swimming
On Monday 11 May, four Huntingtower School students proudly represented the Eastern Independent Schools of Melbourne (EISM) Association at the Victorian Schools Association Championships held at Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre (MSAC).
Competing against 12 other school sporting associations, including larger associations such as the Associated Public Schools of Victoria (APS), our students performed exceptionally well in what was an elite and highly competitive swimming competition.
The championships featured 54 events, with our swimmers competing in both individual and relay events against some of the strongest school-aged swimmers in the state. The standard of competition throughout the evening was exceptionally high and provided a wonderful opportunity for our students to test themselves against Victoria’s best school swimmers.
Our students made a significant contribution to EISM finishing an impressive 5th overall at the Championships. A special congratulations goes to Peter, who was part of the EISM teams that achieved 3rd place in both the 200m Breaststroke Relay and the 200m Medley Relay. These were outstanding achievements in a field of exceptional talent.
Congratulations to our dedicated and committed swimmers - Peter, Christopher, Sebastien and Thalia - on their selection and outstanding efforts. To compete at this level is a tremendous achievement, and the students represented Huntingtower with pride, determination and excellent sportsmanship. They truly did us proud.
2026 Victorian Schools Tennis Championships
Congratulations to Goran, Ishaan, Jamie, Rishi and Derek, who represented Huntingtower School at the 2026 Victorian Schools Tennis Championships on Thursday 21 May.
The team competed across three rounds of high-level competition, playing four singles matches and two doubles matches per round, before progressing through to the final stages. The standard of play was exceptionally strong, with elite opposition and players holding Universal Tennis Ratings (UTR) as high as 12, providing a challenging and highly competitive environment.
Throughout the day, our students demonstrated outstanding resilience, focus and sportsmanship, engaging in long, hard-fought matches featuring exceptional stroke play and tactical awareness. Their commitment and determination were evident in every match they played.
The team finished 8th in the State, a fantastic achievement at such a prestigious and competitive tournament, and a reflection of their effort throughout the event.
A big thank you to Danielle Jones, Huntingtower tennis coach, for her support and guidance on the day of the competition.
Congratulations once again to the team on their impressive performance and for representing Huntingtower with pride.

School Sports Associations of Victoria – Golf Championships
Toyesh T. (Year 11) was recently selected to represent the EISM association at the SSAV Championships following his strong performance at the EISM Golf Gala Day. The event was held at Lonsdale Links on the Bellarine Peninsula on Monday, 25 May 2026, where Toyesh competed in the Individual Men’s event against a highly talented field of golfers.
Being selected to compete at this level is a significant achievement and highlights Toyesh’s dedication, commitment, and ability in the sport.
The tournament was played in extremely challenging weather conditions, with heavy rain throughout much of the round and strong winds persisting for the entire day. Toyesh described the course as one of the best links courses he has played, featuring stunning coastal scenery alongside a demanding layout. The greens differed considerably from Melbourne’s natural sand belt greens, making putting particularly difficult.
The course proved especially challenging for first-time players, as the contours of both the fairways and greens required precise shot placement and thoughtful course management. Toyesh noted that understanding the layout of each hole was crucial, and that having a club member in his playing group provided a valuable advantage.
The event featured a very strong field of competitors from leading golfing schools, including Rowville Sports Academy and Camberwell Grammar School. Many participants had state-level experience or higher, contributing to the exceptionally high standard of competition.
Congratulations to Toyesh on representing the school with determination and resilience in such demanding conditions.
