Principal's Report

For anyone who has visited Huntingtower over the last few weeks, it would have been impossible not to notice the energy and activity across the School.  Students have been busy practising choreography, music and lines as they prepared for last Friday’s House Performing Arts Festival. It was the culmination of weeks of preparation and it was magnificent.

What made the event so remarkable was not simply the quality of the performances, but the involvement of all our students. Every Senior School student played a role, whether through singing, dancing, acting, playing an instrument or backstage support.

Events like House Performing Arts provide far more than simply an engaging celebration of our Disney favourites. They give students the opportunity to work together towards something larger than themselves. In the process they learn how to collaborate, solve problems and trust one another.

This week also culminated in a student driven IDAHOBIT assembly designed to encourage students to think beyond their own experiences. I encourage you to take a moment to view the video linked below. You will be deeply impressed by both the articulation of ideas and the genuine compassion our students demonstrate.

As you read through this Bulletin, you will also see outstanding achievements in Athletics, Debating and Public Speaking, along with the generosity and enthusiasm behind the Mather fundraising initiative, Blue Lights.

All of this reflects what makes Huntingtower such a special place. While we are proud of our academic success, we have never believed that excellence is measured solely by examination results. Learning flourishes when students feel connected, valued and inspired. It happens when people are encouraged to pursue their interests and contribute to something beyond themselves.
