Year 3/4

Reconciliation Week: “All In”
During Reconciliation Week, our Year 3 and 4 students explored the important theme for 2026, “All In.” Students learned that this theme is a call for all Australians to commit to reconciliation by working together, showing respect, and building stronger relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
As part of our learning, students discussed National Sorry Day (26 May) and reflected on why it is important to remember and acknowledge the experiences of the past. These conversations encouraged empathy, understanding, and respect for Australia’s shared history.
Students then watched an episode of the children’s series Little J & Big Cuz titled, “Wombat Rex.” The episode explored many important values including friendship, kindness, inclusion, helping others, listening to one another, Aboriginal culture and connection to Country.
Inspired by the episode and our class discussions, students created artwork with written reflections answering the questions:
- What does friendship mean to you?
How can you be a good friend?
These thoughtful responses were combined into a collaborative art installation celebrating friendship, respect, and belonging within our school community. The activity encouraged students to think about how small everyday actions can help create a kinder and more inclusive world for everyone.
We are very proud of the empathy, creativity, and thoughtful discussions shown by all students throughout Reconciliation Week.
