A Wonderful End to the School Year at Blackburn High

We farewelled the Year 12 Class of 2025 in true Blackburn style with a BBQ breakfast and a heartfelt Guard of Honour, formed by students from Years 7–11. It was a memorable send-off celebrating their journey and achievements over their secondary years.

In 2026, the Graduation Dinner was held at a new venue, Cathies Lane Receptions. The night was a wonderful celebration, with every student recognised and celebrated by their families and peers. The evening was filled with joy, laughter, and plenty of dancing - including an energetic Zorba!

Students also showcased their incredible talents at Blackburn’s Got Talent, an annual event entirely organised and run by students. Performances included singing, dancing, instrumental pieces and rhythm games — a fantastic display of creativity and confidence. As usual, the gym was overflowing with students eager to cheer on their schoolmates.

We welcomed our future students through a series of Transition Workshops for our 2026

Year 7s, which provided:

  • An introduction to Blackburn High School
  • Opportunities to try new musical instruments
  • Hands-on science exploring living organisms in pond water

Our Parent Information Evening and Orientation Day were also big successes, with just over 200 students attending Orientation. Students enjoyed:

  • Get-to-know-you games and making new friends
  • Finding out their 2026 classes
  • Mastering the combination lock
  • Participating in their first lessons in Art, Maths and Sport

Our Year 9 students celebrated their ‘Big Day Out’ at Gumbuya World, a fantastic way to mark the end of their Middle School journey. Students spent a wonderful day enjoying the water slides and roller coasters.
