Student Achievements

Duke of Edinburgh Camp
In mid-October, starting on 14th October, 35 year 9 students attended and completed the Bronze Duke of Edinburgh award at Wilsons Promontory hiking camp.
The three groups set off on Tuesday from either Telegraph Saddle or Tidal River and returned on Friday after walking over 45 kilometres carrying food, tents, clothes, and other equipment on their backs. Throughout the camp, students developed their outdoor living skills, including cooking on Trangia stoves, setting up tents, navigating, and travelling as a group.
The groups were treated to stunning weather during the day as they walked along pristine beaches, river crossings and up mountains. At different stages of the hike, all students were challenged; however, they demonstrated outstanding resilience to overcome the difficulties they faced.
All students should be very proud of the planning and preparation that they put in that allowed them to have such a successful camp.
A big thank you to Mr Nicholson, Mr Morris, and Ms Van Der Westhuizen for organising a fantastic camp.

Sporting Achievements - Maria and Navkirat - KHO KHO - Indian Tag
Maira has recently taken up Kho-Kho, a traditional Indian tag-and-chase sport played around the world. Just last week, she travelled to New Zealand as part of the Australian Kho-Kho Team, competing in the annual New Zealand Sikh Games. The team performed exceptionally well, finishing as runners-up in the finals against the New Zealand National Team.
Early December, Maira headed to Sydney to compete in the first-ever Australian National Kho-Kho Championships, facing teams from across the country.
update this
This event will also serve as the selection trials for the Australian National Team, who will go on to represent Australia at the 2026 Commonwealth Kho-Kho Championships in India.
Another of our students, Navkirat B, will also be competing alongside Maira in these exciting competitions.
We are incredibly proud of both girls for their dedication, hard work and commitment to the sport.
Year 7 Boys Netball – SSV State Champions
Congratulations to our Year 7 Boys Netball team, who went through Whitehorse, EMR and State Finals undefeated. The boys came into the sport at the Whitehorse level, knowing very little about the game and its rules. Across the 3 levels of competition, they improved out of sight. At the State Final, they defeated: Preliminary rounds - Mary McKillop Leongatha (22-7), Belmont HS (17-12) and Dromana SC (18-14). They defeated Ballarat High in the Semi-Final (20-4) and then played Belmont HS again in the Final.
It was a really hard-fought Grand Final game with the lead changing many times. However, the boys kept their cool and came away with a 19-17 win.
Outstanding day for all of the boys –
Eddie, Max, Mitch, Zac, Charlie, Jed, Liam, Mason and Dash.
