Val Finch Writing Competition – Minha Rahman

Congratulations to Minha Rahman, who was the Year 8 winner of the Val Finch Writing Competition, with her piece titled ‘Can Heroes Have Crushes?’.

Assembly Celebrations

Well done to Logan Bennett and Cooper Austin, who were recognised at our recent assembly for their commitment to displaying the Horsham College values. Logan and Cooper have received a $5 canteen voucher for their efforts. Well done.

Hawk Awards

A big congratulations to Eve Ellis and Jett Rowe, who were the recipients of our latest Hawk awards. Eve and Jett were recognised for their exceptional behaviour and commitment to displaying the Horsham College values, as well as their involvement in school sporting events.

Hats

Term 4 sees the start of much warmer weather and more sunshine. Students are reminded to wear their hats when outside during recess, Lunchtimes, and in outdoor classes such as PE. Any students who do not have a hat will be required to sit in the shade. If a student has lost their hat, they can check lost property or purchase a new one from the front office. Thank you for your cooperation in being a SunSmart school.

Year 8 Camp

Our Year 8 camp is coming up in week 5 of this term. Students who are attending have been given an information sheet that includes a clothing list with what to bring, along with reminders around arrival time for the bus, medications, phones and spending money. Any student who did not get a form can get one from the Year 8 office.

Any students not attending the camp will be required to attend school as normal. There will be a modified timetable/program that our Year 8s will complete on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday back here at School
