My Country

By Laurence Escano Ogagang

I love my country which shines

beneath the sun,

A land of golden fields where rivers run,

Of mountains high that touch the sky,

Of birds set free that learn to fly.

I love her seas of sparkling blue,

I love her skies of brightest hue,

Her spirit strong, her heart so true -

This is my home, my land, my view.

My Country

By Liliana Wu

I love  bustling China.

A land of a spectacular yellow river,

The mighty Yangtze River!

Of the bustling city and peaceful plains.

I love her vast land,

I love her towering mountains.

Her kindness and her strictness,

This vast land is my home!

My City

I love my city Fuqing,

A land of bustling skyscrapers,

Of beautiful landscape,

Of lively streets,

I love this spectacular city,

I love her diverse food,

Her happy kindness

This wide red land for me!

My Country

By Dorothea Mackellar

I love a sunburnt country,

A land of sweeping plains,

Of ragged mountain ranges.

Of droughts and flooding rains.

I love her far horizons,

I love her jewel-sea,

Her beauty and her terror -

This wide brown land for me!

My City

I love my bustling city Beijing,

A land of the ancient Great Wall.

Of Tiananmen square.

Of modern skyscrapers.

I love her magnificent landscape

I love her sweltering summer,

Her spectacular cool mountains

This lively, vibrant land for me

I love my peaceful country

A land of magnificent landscape

Of green sweltering rainforest

Of white snowy mountains

I love her diversity

Her shimmering and spectacular skyline

This elegant red country called China

My City

By Gerrard Lin

I love my city, Xiamen.

A land of bustling skyscrapers

Of magnificent history

Of frenetic high tech living

I love her diverse food

I love her melodic music

Her spectacular beauty

This red dragon in the south of China.

My village

 by Ketty Karalis

I love my little village,

A land of rolling green hills,

Of distant sound of sheep bells,

Of fragrant wild flowers and lush green mountain herbs.

I love the thousand year old olive groves!

I love my father’s tiny dilapidated home,

Her cliffs and ragged ranges and isolated tracks.

This lonely little village forgotten by time.
