In 2027 St Pius X celebrates its 90th anniversary - please save the date for the Commencement Mass (9 February), Blue & Gold Anniversary Ball (14 May), Back to Pius Day (20 August) and Pius Fair Day (Term 4, at Luna Park). A volunteer video will be released shortly to support the Ball.
SPX farewelled Mr Pat Rodgers, who has taken up an exciting new role as Head of Cricket at St Joseph’s Catholic College, Hunters Hill, and will continue to support our Extension 1 History class.
The Gym refurbishment continues in stages, with new change rooms, amenities and shower facilities completed, and further upgrades planned over the coming months.
Congratulations to our newly announced 2027 Student Leaders, and to our Football and Tennis teams on strong Grand Final campaigns this season.
Our Performing Arts UK & Europe Tour was a great success, with auditions for Treasure Island now underway.
P&F President’s Update:
The P&F has been working closely with the 5 clubs - Basketball, Football, Cricket, PAPA and Rugby, and SPX to draft a funding model for 2027–2029. This will provide additional financial support to the clubs where there is a clearly defined need and proper governance to ensure funds are used well and in a timely manner. The final funding model will tabled for approval at the AGM in November.
The basketball club has entered an exciting new partnership with AET (Asensi Elite Training), led by James Asensi, to run the basketball program. This will bring structured in-season coaching, Basketball NSW Level 1 accreditation pathways for current and aspiring old boy coaches, and improved equipment. Keep an eye out for details on the upcoming season launch.
