Canonisation of St Carlo Acutis - The First Millennial Saint

On 7 September 2025, Carlo Acutis—nicknamed “God’s influencer” and known as the first millennial saint—was canonised (officially declared a saint) by Pope Leo XIV at St Peter’s Square, Vatican City. Acutis, a London‑born Italian tech‑savvy teen who died of leukaemia in 2006 at age 15, built multilingual websites documenting Eucharistic miracles. While he loved his PlayStation, he limited himself to playing just one hour a week to ensure his focus remained on God. Thousands of young Catholics flocked to Rome to witness the ceremony. His swift path to sainthood reflects the Church’s effort to connect with younger generations through relatable faith and technology.

Pope Leo XIV's Monthly Prayer Intention

In September , we pray for our relationship with all creation.

Let us pray that, inspired by Saint Francis, we might experience our interdependence with all creatures who are loved by God and worthy of love and respect.
