Term 1 is off to a flying start for our Sports Captains (Olivia Portelli, Pheobe Gowans, Jessica Nguyen, Amelia Grbac and Allegra Kline), who travelled out to Marian College to attend the 2025 Sports Leaders Breakfast.  

An opportunity to meet, network and get to know captains and leaders from other schools across the network, the breakfast brings together all CGSAV schools in preparation for a big year ahead.  

The girls were fed a delicious breakfast followed by a talk and Q&A by Georgia Patrikios, St Kilda AFWL player and leader. Georgia shared her inspiring rise to AFLW stardom and gave the students advice and guidance on how to become future leaders, to balance school and other commitments and how to look after health and wellbeing as an athlete. The leaders had an opportunity to meet and chat with Georgia after the talk and of course, get an obligatory picture!  

Following the talk, the girls took part in a ‘team bonding’ exercise, where they worked with their fellow Leaders from across the network to attempt to beat the teachers in a fastest finger first Kahoot!  

The leaders left full of enthusiasm and ideas for their own leadership journeys this year, and we can’t wait to see them thrive in their roles.  A great start to the 2025 Sports Calendar!
