Special Education

School Wide Positive Behaviour Support
Our School Wide Positive Behaviour Support foci for weeks 9 & 10 of term 1 are as follows:
Week 7
Special Education students continue to demonstrate great skills in the yard to keep everyone safe.
Another great week for our Special Education secondary students as they continue to use respectful language around the College, to each other and with staff, both inside and outside the classroom.
Week 8
Special Education Primary – I am safe in the yard
Special Education Secondary – I use respectful language
Special Education Primary have again displayed many skills while they have been learning “to be safe in the yard”.
While our Secondary students aren’t pictured, all reports have been that they are “using respectful language” while doing many activities around Seymour on their excursions.
Harmony Week
Blue Room students and staff from Special Education collaborated to make a hand tree for Harmony Week.
SM Assembly
On Friday 13th March, it was our turn to present at our Assembly. We have had a jammed pack term so far, so we decided that we would showcase what we have enjoyed the most.
These include:
- Woodwork
- Science and humanities experiments
- Student choice sessions
- Team building with Ryan.
On Fridays we have Steph’s class join us for Friday funday. They join us for a science session, where we do different things with to do with science. We’ve had “paper plane design and flying competition” and we've watched Phil make “elephant toothpaste”. This is something that we have been waiting to see for a while. We were expecting a massive explosion, like we see online, but as Phil explains, we can’t have the same results, as they use heaps massive amounts of hydrogen peroxide and it is a lot stronger than what we can use at school. Once we were back in the classroom, we had a look at videos to see how big they can get. We are super proud of what our students have achieved so far this term.
