Marshmallows in Leather Jackets

Lunchtimes at EHS are 45 minutes long, this can feel like an incredibly long time for students who haven’t found people to spend that time with. EHS also understands that forming these friendships can be incredibly challenging, especially for those who have come to EHS not knowing anyone.

In order to support students in forming those connections, EHS runs a lunch club every Wednesday at lunchtime in Room 154 called Marshmallows in Leather Jackets. Marshmallows in Leather Jackets provides a space where students can play board games and card games with other students in a similar situation as them. The lunch club is facilitated by Melissa Hughes but run by a group of older students who have experienced those same struggles.

Students are always welcome to join us, free from judgment and commitment.

Roaming Environmental Volunteers

On the last day of Term 2 a group of students and staff participated in a tree planting activity with a group called the Roaming Environmental Volunteers. 

The long term aim of the planting is to improve platypus habitat along Diamond Creek and the Birrarung / Yarra River.
