Public Transport: Safety, Respect and Responsibility

Many of our students travel to and from school using public transport each day. We ask all families to take a few moments to remind their children that the expectations we have at school also apply while travelling to and from school.

We encourage students to:

• Treat others with kindness, courtesy and respect

• Be mindful of their language and behaviour in public spaces

• Help create an environment where everyone feels safe and comfortable

• Look out for one another and seek help from an adult or transport staff member if they feel unsafe or witness concerning behaviour; and

• Remember that they are ambassadors for our school and wider community.

Parents can support this by having regular conversations with their children about respectful behaviour, personal safety and making positive choices when travelling independently.
