Years F - 2

The first two weeks back at school have been action-packed, with lots of learning and fun along the way!

Literacy- We have started our new text study, exploring information books and learning about the features of information texts. We have also been investigating different sentence types, including statements, questions, exclamations and commands. Working in groups, students were given different pictures and challenged to create one sentence of each type. They did a fantastic job sharing their sentences and presenting their ideas to the class!

Maths- In Maths, we have been exploring multiplication and equal sharing. Students have enjoyed a range of hands-on activities, practising how to make equal groups and share collections fairly.

Art- I have been so impressed with the students’ efforts in Art! We have been using crayons and pastels to create beautiful flower artworks for the upcoming Fleece and Flower Show. Students were challenged to carefully colour their flowers and backgrounds, making sure to cover all the gaps. They have risen to the challenge and produced some wonderful pieces!

PE- We have kicked off our cricket unit in PE. Students have been practising underarm throwing and catching a smaller ball, which can be a tricky skill to master. We will continue developing these skills over the coming weeks.

Show and Tell- Show and Tell has started again, and the students are already loving the opportunity to share their special items and ideas with the class. Thank you for your ongoing support in helping students come prepared and ready to share. These opportunities are helping to build their confidence and develop their speaking and listening skills.
